I see everywhere people saying that they want dedicated servers in MW3. However I am clueless as to what that is.

Dedicated servers = Servers hosted by players and followers of the game. You scroll through the menu, find a game, and if it isn’t full, you join. If you like the server, save it to your favourites, and play again. I’m guessing you’ve never played an FPS on the PC. If you haven’t then it’s pretty self-explanatory since consoles use the P2P method, or the method where you are automatically placed with random people.

Dedicated servers = proper way to play (IMO).

Does anyone know the best free webhost in the world?

I’ve heard rumors about modern warfare 3 potentially having "dedicated servers". what are they and what do they do?

The article says there will be dedicated servers. But did not specify if it was talking about consoles or PC’s. I could definitely see them only putting them on PC’s. I’m not sure how much dedicated servers cost, but I think it would be well worth no. No more host migration and all that crap.

i mean they make billions of of the call of duty franchise and still no dedicated servers why do they no use dedicated servers you think after all the complaints for people who are tired of connection issues and lag they would buy dedicated server’s but i guess not
P.S did they say anything about dedicated servers for MW3

They all have dedicated servers but it’s impossible to help lagging issues since around 800000 play it, if you want no lag, buy Halo: Reach (I know, you probably don’t like Halo) but it has about 100000 people playing and never really lags for me.

Does it because i will not get it if it doesnt have dedicated servers like homefront does.

Yes. Medal of Honor has dedicated servers for the Xbox 360. They occasionally get laggy due to heavy traffic, but for the most part they are decent.
I personally don’t like Medal of Honor multiplayer, because the spawns are god awful and sniping is ridiculously overpowered. Just to warn you. The campaign is cool though.

Yup, bfbc2 does not have the lag like black ops whenever it changes host. Homefront, from what i’ve heard, is a terrible rip-off of cod, you do pretty much the same stuff over and over again. If i were you, \i would wait for battlefield 3.

My friend told me during beta it was really laggy and had host migration. Also in defense it is beta and they are always making adjustments and changes so servers could have been down or changes made. All I am asking is when game officially comes out will there be dedicated servers because Gears of War 2 sucked?

yes, there will be dedicated servers for gears of war 3 do to people complaining about the server host migration in gears of war 2. there will be servers in the final game when it comes out later this year.

Dedicated servers are servers that will provide the best internet strength for online multiplayer gaming. For games such as Call of Duty they become real useful.

How they work:
You find the website/company that provides servers and you sign up
Anytime you need a dedicated server they will give you account access to a server and this account will be like another Gamer with a GT. You join the game of the server, and ta daaa you have a dedicated server as a host for your game.

All of the editors you see are really just JavaScript textboxes. I own a couple but actually use one of the many free ones. If you do a search on ’sitebuilders’ I’d bet you’ll get a ton of hits.
