What is the best site for a free domain name?

I am looking at starting up a blog and I want a free domain name that will be good for bringing traffic to my site. Which site is the best for offering free domain names?

I used the following site to get a free .com domain:

Pretty much you complete one offer in exchange for a $11 Godaddy gift card (more than enough for one .com domain).

They specialise in cell phone unlocking for free, but they seem to do domains too. My friend told me about it.

    Word of caution however; you are not going to get a quality extension like .com, .net, or .org. You want your Domain name to reflect what your site is about exactly. Most of the popular extension domain names will no doubt be taken even if you wanted to purchase.

    There are creative ways to get around this. Tell you what. Yesterday I was in GoDaddy and I wanted a domain name that was pretty common like MakeMoneyOnline. Of course this name was taken for all of the major extensions but guess what, I added Center to the end of it and used an .info extension and BINGO I got it. Guess what it cost me? 89 Cents a month!

    MakeMoneyOnlineCenter.info is now mine for $0.89. Not free but close to it. Most .info domains names are dirt cheap.

  5. If your blog will already have a long domain of it’s own. You can visit dot.tk to shorten that domain to a more memorable one.
