I want to see if any one knows where i can find a windows dedicated server that doesn’t cost a arm and a leg . cheap is good any ideas ?

+Nearly all servers will run the Windows Server operating systems (maybe except Sun, alpha-based, etc). It really depends on what you consider to be inexpensive and what it is that you require for the server. You could try eBay, but just take care as to who you are buying from.

In short i’m swedish and on a 100mbit line so i’m almost always the host and since iw is so cheap it’s my server that follow my commands, it’s only “dedicated” in spirit. :3

In short join a game become host, change the time, health, gravity, infinity ammo, exp you name it and it will pretty much be your own server. IWnet will still send unsuspecting people to their doom in this hellfire.

I bought a cheap domain name.
I have a dedicated server elsewhere.

I want to point the domain name to the IP of my server.

There is an option to change the DNS servers:

Now it looks like this:

1) ns.hdllc.net
2) ns2.hdllc.net

I can add my own nameserver, but how can I make one which points to the IP of my server?

You can set this all up in the admin area you bought the domain from. Your going to need a static IP, so if its using DHCP from ISP then your going to need to configure DDNS.

After you know the public IP and know that its static then withn the admin console of domain you can forward the domain to the IP of your choice and or DDNS name

I have been shopping around for a web hosting and dedicated server provider for an online game being developed. But my brain is beginning to hurt as they all claim to be the cheapest/best! My current hosting company does not provide MySQL/PHP database support nor does it have a forum template, both things I need. Ok, A freind of mine is creating a privte wow server (any wow fans out there can come, blizzlike 100% ) And we need a dedicated pc so it can run 24/7. we want somthing cheap and we dont need a monitor ( can switch between his Pc and the server) Could anyone tell me.

2) aprox specs for the PC
3) aprox cost of this all
