after the download install it in your hard drive do not install inside Program Files folder.
Make a shortcut of the hldstoolupdator, then right click on it, and properties.
It will be writen on it:
C:\HLServer\HldsUpdateTool.exe
(it depends where your hlds is installed, mine is D:\ because the D is my main local disk.)
I added the quotes because i like it but you can just add this:
-command update -game tf -dir c:\HLServer
then it will be something like this:
C:\HLServer\HldsUpdateTool.exe -command update -game tf -dir c:\HLServer
(after exe you can just press space one time and paste the secondary line.)
if you want to download garrysmod files on the “-game tf” change tf to garrysmod, it will be like this
(-game garrysmod) also, by changing the game name you can download the server files of diferent steam games, suck as cs source and other games, you just have to find out what’s the right name so it will work when you execute it.
execute hldstools.exe on the desktop and it may start downloading the files, it can take hours depending on your internet speed.
after it open your HLDS folder, go on orangebox folder and send srcds.exe to the desktop, execute it and it will appear the game settings options, choose your options and click start game and voi la!! is done!!! you made your own tf2/garrysmod/ whatever you downloaded server.
